There are 4 ways for buyers to work with Indonesia Export and each option has its own strengths and weaknesses -- many of our customers mix and match the options according to the needs of their order.

The Indonesia Export Production Catalogue

We're confident of every product in our catalogue. We know the makers very well and have worked with them for years -- we know their balance of price and quality is the best we can get. We also know that, with any product in our catalogue, we can custom produce variations in size and color to fit order needs.

Here are the key points:

• Catalogue orders are production only.
• Lead time on an order will generally be around 4 weeks depending on order size and complexity but we will confirm lead time before starting production.
• All products are fully managed from start to finish including intensive quality control.
• Pricing includes standard, single-face packing material* but does not include any freight related fees. There is no charge for product pick-up.
• There is no further commission on top of the catalogue prices.
• All catalogue products are 100% guaranteed -- meaning if you're dissatisfied with any product we ship and the issue is our responsibility (rather than a shipping or cargo issue), we'll refund you the full value of the product excluding shipping and freight related fees.
• If you don't have a cargo solution, we can organise shipping to your port and, in some cases, directly to your door (depending on whether the service is available for your location).

*Single-face packing material includes carton roll (corrugated cardboard roll), standard packing cartons, shredded paper, brown packing paper, silica gel packs. If any of the items on your order require wood crates, we'll advise you before we start production. If you need a custom packing or labelling solution, we'll find you quotes or we can work with your own solution.

Indonesia Export acting as your Buying Agent in Bali

If you have already identified or worked with your own suppliers, we can manage your purchases and production orders as your agent in Bali. Our goal is to oversee your order from start to finish and make sure you get what you paid for -- here are the key points:

• We will ensure your order requirements are communicated in full to your suppliers.
• We will quality control according to your points.
• We handle payments -- cash deposits and balances upon completion.
• Our fee / commission is 10% over invoice -- in other words, if your invoice total is US$100.00, our commission will be US$10.00.
• We guarantee our work -- if you're not satisfied with any products shipped and feel it is our fault, we will refund our commission of 10% on that item.
• The agent fee / commission does not include pick-up or packing or any local logistics or freight related charges -- we can, however, provide those services for you if you don't have your own freight solution -- please see our Buying Agent in Bali page for more details or email us with your questions.

The advantages of Working With Us as Your Buying Agent in Bali are as follows:

• Your order is supervised from start to finish.

The Negatives

• Less control -- if the supplier makes a mistake, we can be there to catch it but if the supplier turns out to be 'evil' or just plain unlucky, the situation will be difficult to resolve (compared with working with our own makers). It's also almost impossible, in most cases, to have a deposit returned when a supplier messes up.
• Limited responsibility on our part -- as we're only responsible for 10% of the product invoice value when something goes wrong, that means if you do have a serious issue upon receipt of the product, you'll be looking at nearly a complete loss.
• Added expense and complexity in picking up and packing.

Buying & Sourcing Trips in Bali with Indonesia Export

Many of our clients visit Bali every year to spend time looking at new products or developing new product lines for their upcoming catalogues. If you’re new to Indonesia Export or new to Bali, you’re also welcome to spend time with us sourcing products and suppliers for your business.

Here are the key points:

• Pricing: each day of Bali Buying & Sourcing will be charged US$50.00. (Clients who later decide to order over US$2,000.00 with Indonesia Export -- meaning, from the Indonesia Export catalogue -- will be refunded the full cost of sourcing.)
• You advise us in advance the type of products you want so we can organise your day as efficiently as possible.
• An experienced, English-speaking member of our team will pick you up at your hotel 9:00 AM and return you to the hotel at 5:00 in the evening.
• We spend the day visiting makers and suppliers of the products you like.
• During the course of the day, we take product photos and notes. Those photos and notes will be available for you at the office the following day.
• We advise if the prices are reasonable or not and help you negotiate where possible.
• If you're satisfied, you can buy on the spot or, if you prefer, take all the information back with you to digest before deciding what to buy.
• The charge per day is US$50.00 (which is about the same as you'd pay for a car and driver for the full day). The charge includes driver, car and petrol but does not include lunch. We stop for at least half an hour for lunch.
• Buying trips are available Monday to Friday.

Product Sourcing in Bali & Java with Indonesia Export

Perhaps you have a particular product in mind that's not in our catalogue but is made in Indonesia or you have designed something new that you want to have made here or perhaps you are already importing a line of products but you're not satisfied with the quality and price.

You may be thinking of visiting Indonesia yourself to find your suppliers or sending one of your buyers to get the job done but Indonesia Export has the resources, expertise, experience and skill to help you get that job done quickly and cost-effectively. Here's how it works:

• Send us your product details -- pictures, target pricing, product specifications and every relevant detail.
• We'll advise you if that item can be produced in Bali or if requires sourcing in Java or one of the other islands.
• If the project requires travel to other islands, we'll advise you on expenses and, if you're comfortable, we'll organise a targeted sourcing trip to various suppliers we feel can handle your project. We'll put the trip plan in front of you and agree the expenses budget before we go any further. We can make that trip with you or on our own.
• Once the right suppliers have been found, we'll organise samples ahead of the first production run and send you detailed photos of the completed samples along with our detailed report on the product quality, price and our opinion of the supplier in terms of reliability, consistency, production capacity and so on. Once you've reviewed the pictures and reports, we can arrange to ship the samples to you.
• There is no set charge for sourcing -- we negotiate the terms on a per-project basis -- if you're interested, please email us to get the ball rolling.
