Essentially, you’re looking at a very traditional item both in a Balinese home as well as at a ceremony — similar to a breadbasket, it’s just a way to keep the insects from your food.

Bamboo Bird Houses…

Quaint & cute bamboo bird houses — handmade here in Bali. If you like these, you may also be interested in our handmade bird cages and our original bali windchimes categories.

Bamboo Products…

A range of ‘thin’ bamboo products. The bamboo itself is brought in from Java (as far as we know, it’s only the thick or wide-diameter bamboo poles commonly available here) but treated, assembled and finished here in Bali. These bamboo pieces are surprisingly sturdy and very popular. The range includes occasional bamboo chairs, bamboo lamps, bamboo mirrors, bamboo and wood mirrors.

Bamboo Root…

Odd, some might say ‘grotesque’ hand carved faces.
These are made from the discarded roots of bamboo grasses.
Each one is unique insofar as the carver
decides the features and expression of the character based
on the shape of the root at hand. Very similar to our Tree Sprites
category and often made by the same Balinese carvers.

Bamboo Serving Trays…

These bamboo serving trays are collected
from a number of different Balinese crafters,
weavers and carvers. It’s a relatively old range
of products but very popular.
